Day 07: Skaneateles, NY to Macedon, NY Total Distance: 59 mi Moving Avg: 10.2 mph Moving Time 5:45 Climbing: 2100 ft Elev Gain: -400 ft Route Summary: US 20 W to NY 318 W to NY 96 N to NY 21 N to NY 31 W Well, I'm at the house of Dr. Barnes, an APO Brother. It is a very welcome change from motels. She has a wonderful house, and two kids. The kids are just what one would expect from 2.5 yr olds. We're watching "Where's Spot?" right now. I'm not quite sure how anyone can deal with so much, but she seems to manage really well. I can't imagine what it would be like. Today's ride was easy and fun. It was nice and sunny, and mostly flat. There were some headwinds for a bit, but not bad. It was pretty short feeling too. Now that I'm in flat country, I think I can make much longer distances. Especially if I manage to start getting up early (ha!) Not a bad day, pain wise, the same old things hurt, but not badly. The question for tomorrow is do I go south via Victor to stop at a bike store for more lube, some chain cleaner, and maybe a new tire for the BOB, or stay a bit further north for a bit and avoid some climbing? Not sure what I'll do just yet. I need to get better at making decisions.
