Day 46: Green River, UT to Price, UT Total Distance: 65.0 mi Moving Avg: 9.4 mph Moving Time: 6:54 Today was hot and slow. Yesterday I was in fast mode for most of the day. Today I was in slow mode. I think yesterday really tired me out. Today I even had tailwinds for about half the day, but I was still slower. Something was just missing. I couldn't get myself into fast mode for more than 30 sec. And it was really hot. Yow. I start each day with a Camalbak full of ice, but that only lasts for 2 camalbaks of water (160 oz or so). After that, it is all hot plasticy water. Ewwww! Today also had a fair bit of uphill. Tomorrow will have more. I can see the mountains in front of me. They aren't as intimidating as the Rockies (that would be hard), but they are still intimidating. I only have about 2000' to the summit though. I ran into another cyclist today, my first not on the ACA route. He was going from WA to AZ. And old guy, rather hobo looking. But nice. And packed about as heavy as me, the first one I've seen with so much stuff. US-6 is not as nice I-70. There is little shoulder and it is 2 lane instead of 4, so traffic has a harder time passing. Grump.
