Day 50: Lake Point, UT to Wendover, UT Total Distance: 101 mi Moving Avg: 11.0 mph Moving Time: 9:07 w00t! My first century! And a fully loaded one. And I carried all my water with me (which means I brought too much, there were 3 opportunities to fill up and I needed none of them. I know, 'better safe than sorry,' but water is HEAVY). Stunningly, I actually got up too early. First (and likely last) time I've said that. I didn't sleep well, so I was pretty tired when I started. I should have gotten up later, as it was still dark when I got rolling. And biking in the dark on an interstate was not so fun. It turns out there was a motel in Delle, but I don't think I could have made it there anyway. I passed through the Bonneville salt flats on the way. They were pretty cool. The whole day was mostly flat, but the salt flats just brought it home. Also, I had tailwinds for a bit the day, despite predictions to the contrary. I guess I owe Krotus a flaming monument at BM. I'm going to take a rest day here in Wendover. Wendover is a small gambling town with cheap motels and a theater. Perfect. After this, I should be able to just head home.
